Fear the Gator

Good morning! It’s finally starting to feel like fall a little around here, and I’m loving the cooler temperatures in the morning and evening. I guess I spoke too soon when I said I would be in summer mode for a while.

Since Nick has been in Atlanta for work, it’s just me and Bentley. Last night I decided to take him for a long walk all around our apartment, the lake, and the shops/mall/restaurants that surround us. Bentley is always game for exploring new areas. In fact, he spends about 90% of his walks lagging behind me, trying to sniff out all of the other dogs around here. He’s quite the friendly little guy. ;)

One thing that I’m still very cautious about around here is the alligators. Since we have a huge lake behind our apartment, I am always scared to let Bentley off of the leash because he loves water and will run into the lake in a heartbeat. I was a little naive at first, thinking that gators would never be an issue for us here. Oh, but I was wrong. Very wrong. Lately, we have been seeing a HUGE gator in the lake, and it terrifies me just a little.¬†

You can’t really blame them, because the lake and the area around us is so beautiful that I would want to live there too. I think it’s time to start venturing out to some of the dog parks in the area though, because I don’t think my half-marathon training is going to really help me out if I come face to face with one of these guys.

Anyways, we covered almost 2 miles last night and Bentley definitely got in a good workout. He has so much energy that sometimes I feel like I could walk him for 10 miles and he still wouldn’t be tired. Once the sun started to set and the temperature dropped, it was perfect weather for a long walk. I have a feeling I’m really going to love the cooler nighttime weather around here. And the sunsets aren’t so bad either.

One of the perks of being on my own last night was dinner. I recently fell in love with peanut butter Cheerio’s. Where have they been all my life? I still love peanut butter Puffins the most of any peanut butter cereal, but these are a close second. Pretty sure I could eat them for every meal for the next week.

We spent the rest of the night playing around and trying to learn new tricks (Bentley, not me). It didn’t go so well. ¬†Please look at my ridiculous dog in the background of this.

I would also be lying if I said I didn’t watch my new favorite show, Here Comes Honey BooBoo for an hour. I can’t get enough of the ridiculousness of that show. Please tell me I’m not the only one.

Time to be productive and get to work! Have a great day! :)

Please make me feel better and tell me I’m not the only one who loves obnoxious reality TV. What is your guilty pleasure TV show?

Seriously a gator in a suburban area? Oh my gosh how freaky. I’d be afraid I’d wake up and he’d be chillin in my yard! Trashy reality is seriously a passion of mine. I’m a huge bachelor/bachelorette fan! I can’t get enough!!
