We’re back in Orlando after a fun-filled weekend in Atlanta! I have a few days worth of recaps to share with you all so bare with me because this post is going to be looooooong.
Friday morning we woke up early to head to the bus station to catch a bus to Atlanta. We had considered driving but since Nick had to work and the bus offered free WiFi, we decided that would be the best option. After nine hours on the bus, we finally made it to Atlanta! Once we dropped our stuff off in our room, Nick had some work to do so I headed to the gym. I ran 15 minutes of sprints before finishing with 2o minutes on the elliptical and some push-ups. It felt good to sweat and stretch my legs after that long bus ride!
We grabbed dinner at a little cafe right down the street from our hotel while waiting for our friends to arrive. Once my friend Faith got there, we met up with a couple other friends and headed out to a local bar. It was a late night (something I’m not used to anymore!) and I was shocked when we woke up Saturday morning at 10. I can’t even tell you the last time we did that! We met up with Faith and her boyfriend Tom and headed to Corner Cafe for brunch.
I fell in love with this cute little cafe/bakery. I wish there was one in Orlando! Not only was the food amazing, they had the most beautiful pastries and cakes on display in the front and I wanted to buy every single one of them.
I ordered the veggie omelette and was just hoping for some fresh veggies to be served. I’m not a huge fan of eggs, but can eat them when served with either veggies or cheese-or both. ;) This place delivered big time.
That omelette was about the size of my face. It was supposed to be a three egg omelette, but I’m not sure what kind of eggs they use because I make them for Nick all the time and I have never been able to make it as big as this. Looks like I’ve got to work on my omelette skills!
After we finished breakfast, we walked the mile back to our hotel and hung out for a little bit. I hit the gym again for a quick 30 minute run and then we got ready for the concert!
We actually ended up meeting up with one of my coworkers, Mickey, and his wife Kristen at the concert and we had the best time tailgating with them. Kenny Chesney is my favorite singer and has been for years, so my excitement level was through the roof at this point.
Once we got in to the concert, all of my electronics died and I was almost left picture-less. I was a little bummed that the only picture I have to show from the actual concert is this one…
but I enjoyed the concert so much that I didn’t even care. I sang along with every single song and am completely confused as to why I haven’t lost my voice yet. I’m a little raspy but nothing like I was expecting! The concert was AMAZING.
Nick and I woke up early on Sunday and went to the gym for a little before we ended up leaving early. We were supposed to take the bus back and get in around 10 last night, but Mickey and Kristen were nice enough to ask us to drive back with them so we got back around 6. We picked up Bentley, went back to our house and spent the rest of the night unpacking. We still have to move more of our furniture into our house and finish unpacking our clothes, but we have all of the kitchen unpacked which is a huge success in my book.
Now I’m trying to get back into a regular routine and catch up on sleep. Our goal is to finish unpacking our entire apartment by Friday, sign up for a gym membership this week and get everything set up before a huge group of our friends come to visit us next week. To combat the stress, I’ve already decided I will be taking a hot yoga class tonight after work. It’s been over a week since my last class and my body is craving it. I can’t wait!
Overall, it was such an amazing weekend with some great friends and I’m sad it’s already over. I hope your weekend was as marvelous as mine was!
Who is your favorite singer? Have you ever seen them live?
