I can say with full certainty that this past weekend was by far the most random weekend I’ve had since moving to Florida. At one point on Saturday night my friend Jessica and I looked at each other and just started laughing because we felt like we were in a reality show. I’ll let the pictures do the talking for me…
Friday night we packed up and drove to Gainesville, home to the University of Florida, with our friends Adam and Jessica to break up our drive to Florida State a little bit. Jessica’s brother Matt lives there and was so nice to let us stay at his house for the night. If you didn’t know, UF is home to Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte. We joked all night at dinner about him, and I even tweeted on our way there that if I didn’t see Ryan Lochte in Gainesville, it would be a failure.
Well, what do ya know? Twenty minutes later, I was taking shots with Ryan Lochte.
Jaeger bombs, lemon drops…yuck. But when a gold medalist hands you shots, you don’t turn them down, you know? ;) At one point he and Nick disappeared into some back room and I thought I lost my boyfriend. That was a close one.
Woke up Saturday, drove to Tallahassee.
After we left Tallahassee to head back to Orlando, we took a little detour. Adam is looking to buy a Jeep, and so we ended up in the middle of nowhere Florida to look at one that he found on Craigslist. I’m not kidding you when I say we were completely off the map–we had no cell service, there weren’t even paved roads and the closest gas station/store/anything was 20 minutes away. I felt like we walked onto the set of Duck Dynasty…
Then I rode a horse on the side of the road.
Got back to Orlando and picked up the dirtiest dog. Bentley was staying with Adam and Jess’s roommate and he spent the entire day in the backyard playing with another dog. While it looks like he slid down a fireplace and was covered with soot, I can assure you that it’s just dirt. Owning a light-colored dog is a lot like owning a white car–every stain shows up.
Sunday was much more relaxed. We got up, took Bentley to the dog park to swim and take a bath, and went to watch the Ravens game. They won! We rounded out the day with some grocery shopping, cleaning and then I went off on a beautiful night run. It’s getting a little cooler at night and the scenery was gorgeous.
