A Friday Rant

This has been quite the eventful morning already and it’s not even 9 am yet! We went out with our friends Adam, Jessica, Tom and Amelia last night and got home a little before midnight. Halloween is HUGE in Orlando–it’s probably the most celebrated holiday down here. People go crazy for Halloween and everyone dresses up, goes out and has a good time. Even though I had to work today and Nick has to study for his test tomorrow, we wanted to go out for a little!

Before we met up with everyone, we actually hit the gym for an awesome workout! I got in 45 minutes on the elliptical, 25 of which were HIIT sprints. I also worked out my arms in a simple yet challenging workout that looked like this:

  • Bent-over fly-15 lbs 12×3
  • Bicep curls-10 lbs 12×3
  • Shoulder press-15 lbs 12×3
  • Tricep fly-8 lbs 10×2

After we grabbed dinner real quick–mine was just a simple green salad with chicken, nothing too exciting–we went to a new country bar downtown called Saddle Up. As a HUGE country music lover, I definitely appreciated it and we hung out for a couple hours. I completely failed as a blogger and took one picture the entire night.

20131101-085435.jpgThe real fun started when we got home. We live on the second floor of a pretty large house in a neighborhood right outside of downtown. A couple just signed the lease for the bottom floor and when we got back a little before midnight, they ran out of the house to talk to us. They told us there was a leak in their closet and since we just finished dealing with a leak in our place, we went in to take a look. Our friend Adam flips houses for a living and is very knowledgeable when it comes to this stuff so he came in too. It was just a tiny leak and the water was dripping into a bucket so we told them to just call our landlord and let her know what’s going on because she is good about getting stuff fixed.

Well, wouldn’t you know that I woke up this morning completely exhausted and…there was no water. Lovely. Good thing I didn’t get up to go workout like I was planning to because there is no way I could show up to work without a shower. As long as it’s turned back on by the time I get home from work and go to the gym I’ll be happy.

Okay, rant over.

Since Nick’s test is tomorrow morning, we’re going to have a pretty chill night tonight. After work I’ll head to the gym, take Bentley on a long walk and I’m hoping to clean our house up a little bit too! Oh, the joys of being an adult.

I hope your Friday night is 10 times more exciting than mine will be!
