Resolutions. Goals. Aspirations. Whatever you want to call them, it’s the beginning of the year and everybody’s making them. I’ve never been one to set resolutions because to be honest, there isn’t something crazy that I want to change in my life. I am healthy, I think I exercise enough (ha!) and I don’t have anything major that I want to “fix” about myself. I just want 2014 to be my best year yet and that comes from the day-to-day choices made, not from the lofty goals that disappear by the end of January.
This is a big year for me. I turn 25 at the end of the month. I just may be landing a dream opportunity within the next few weeks/months. I’m finally settled in Orlando and ready to take advantage of the city as much as I can. Nick starts his masters’s and then we have to figure out what and where the next part of life will take us. All life-changing things that I couldn’t be more excited about.
I am a goal setter. Every Monday morning, I write a list of goals I want to accomplish at work for the week. I map out my fitness goals for the week in my planner every week. I constantly find new things I want to do and then try to achieve them. So yes, I did sit down and take the time to figure out some goals I have for this year. I managed to achieve my biggest goal of last year and so I’m hoping for a repeat in 2014.
Some are health and fitness related, some are pretty personal and therefore pretty vague too, and some are just for fun. This is the time of life where I’m supposed to be traveling, exploring the world and figuring out exactly what I want to do with my life. And that’s what I hope to do this year!
What are some goals you have for 2014?
