Weekend Recap: So Much Rain!

Thanks to spontaneous rain showers all weekend long, this weekend didn’t turn out quite the way I planned! You may have noticed that I tend to spend the weekends where Nick is at school at the pool, but that didn’t happen this weekend. There has just been so.much.rain. Instead, here’s what my weekend looked like!

Friday night take-out dinner from Panera. Nick had last minute studying to do and I went running after work and just didn’t feel like cooking when I got home. I ordered the Thai Chicken Salad with a side of wheat baguette. Eaten while watching the NBA playoffs. Once the game was over, we turned on Wedding Crashers and then passed out.

I woke up early on Saturday after a really, really bad night of sleep. I woke up every single hour and once Nick left around 5:30 to get on the road to Gainesville, I laid in bed watching TV and trying to fall back asleep. A few hours later, it was obvious that wasn’t going to happen so I went to the gym to get my workout in. I felt a little uninspired so my workout was 20 minutes of HIIT on the elliptical, 15 minutes on the arc trainer and 15 on the bike.

Breakfast when I got home from the gym.

After I ate, Bentley and I set off for a long walk but only made it 15 minutes before it randomly started pouring. We ran the rest of the way back home and watched Sex and the City (a marathon! Yes!) until the storm was over.

I ran errands and shopped for the rest of the afternoon. The highlight of errands was grabbing this sushi for lunch while grocery shopping.

And I strategically planned my shopping so I ended up right near Whole Foods. Which made dinner an easy decision!

That sweet potato salad is amazing. I have no idea what’s in it other than sweet potatoes, walnuts and raisins but I could eat it every day.

This morning I woke up with a ton of energy so I did a mini bootcamp type workout after taking Bentley on his morning walk. It looked like this:

30 jumping jacks
5 push-ups
25 high knees
7 burpees
10 crunches
7 squats
5 push-ups
10 crunches
5 push-ups
7 squats
30 jumping jacks
1 minute wall sit
5 push-ups
25 high knees

I repeated it twice for a total of 3 times through. It only took about 25 minutes but I was definitely sweaty by the end of it!

Post workout, I inhale a nice cold bowl of fruit, yogurt and honey.

Then headed out to shop some more! I stumbled upon the best natural store only 10 minutes away from us and definitely see more visits in the future. AND I also saw the new Trader Joe’s that is opening this month! I am SO, SO excited for that!

I just got home and ate lunch – turkey, cheese and tomato pita with a side of veggies and hummus – and since it finally stopped raining, I’m going to take Bentley on a walk. We’ve got to get out there while we can before the next round of rain!

Hope you had a good weekend!
