Best Day Ever!

Wednesday was pretty much the best day ever.

A couple of weeks ago, I was the lucky winner of a Vitamix in my friend Amanda’s giveaway. I literally screamed out loud in the gym when I found out. I never win anything. I’ve probably entered over 50 giveaways and I never, ever win. To be honest, I remember entering her giveaway and just kind of laughing – I never thought I would actually win!

Just like pretty much everyone else in the world, I’ve coveted a Vitamix for quite some time. It has always been one of those items that I’ve thought to put on a wedding registry, or ask for as a really generous Christmas present. In other words, it’s something I’ve always wanted desperately but just couldn’t justify paying for.

I had been patiently waiting for my Vitamix to arrive and when I came home for lunch yesterday, I saw the UPS man pulling out of our driveway and just had a feeling that’s what he was dropping off. I was right!

So I did what any other girl would do…opened it up and immediately made a smoothie for lunch!

I am in serious heaven. The Vitamix puts my Nutri-Bullet to shame. Yes, I love my Nutri-Bullet but it just can’t compare to my new baby blender!

Yesterday’s smoothie was frozen banana, almond milk, peanut butter, chocolate peanut butter protein powder and a ton of spinach.

Is it just me or is this super creamy? Maybe I’m just blind with love for my blender, but this smoothie was fantastic.

Now I’m looking for more stuff to make in my Vitamix. It came with a recipe book full of different things to make – peanut butter, frozen iced mocha, salsa – the possibilites are endless. I’m excited to start experimenting and put it to use! I can’t wait to make my own peanut butter. This could be trouble.

So I ask you – what is your favorite smoothie recipe? I’ve been really into tropical fruit based foods lately – salads, smoothies, yogurt bowls – so if you’ve got some good ones, let me know!

    I have been doing:
    1/2 C (+ more if needed) Low Sugar OJ
    1/4 – 1/2 C Greek Yogurt
    1 Banana
    1/2 C mixed strawberries, pineapple, mango
    TONS OF SPINACH

    SO good:)

    For something sweet I like banana, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, unsweetened coco powder, 1/2 C ice, chocolate protein powder and spinach! .
